#0751: Sanquhar and Delta Small
Hydro Power
Emission reductions from this project comes from two small hydro power plants located along a river in Sri
Lanka. With a capacity of 3.2 MW, the two power plants supply 8 000 000 kWh / year, equivalent to the consumption of 13000 inhabitants.

Consequently, the project reduces emissions of NOx and SOx from diesel/fuel oil-generated
electricity
- Increase employment and skill development opportunities for local people as powerhouse
operators.
- Contribution by the project to road maintenance and repair. Action has been taken to provide
